OVERLAP

For many people, identity is a complex and evolving process. This project explores social labels and the often bogus stereotypes that can come with them.

How do we self-identify when our experiences don't align with the identities society expects of us? I set out to explore this concept by conducting interviews and collecting personal stories from people who don't fit into one category or identity, but instead have many overlapping experiences. My hope is to challenge stereotypes and prejudice through empathy.
